  1. Andrea Hammond

    Andrea Hammond

    Andrea qualified as a dental nurse in 1998, before training at the Eastman Dental Hospital in the Burkhart School of Hygiene and Therapy, taking the dental hygienist examinations and dental therapy examinations in 2000. Andrea has been working in multiple practices since January 2001, mainly providing hygienist services. She has been involved in the Eastern Region BSDHT group for many years and is currently the council representative for this area. Andrea has been a member of the Fitness to Practise panel for the General Dental Council since June 2015 and in September 2017, she will begin training to become a volunteer Justice of the Peace in her spare time. Last but not least, she is a parent governor at her children’s primary school.

  2. Angela Johnson

    Angela Johnson

    Angela qualified as a dental nurse in 1983 from the Eastman Dental Hospital, London, 2nd place in her DSA training and 1st place in the final hospital exam. She went on to study dental hygiene at Kings College Hospital, London, attaining 1st places in the pre-clinical and hospital finals once again. Her first job after qualifying in hygiene was with Kings College Hospital as staff Hygienist and after that in a Private Periodontal practice by Harley Street (Queens Anne Street) London, before moving to the Wirral. Aside from her work in practice, Angela also worked for a pharmacology company focusing on the use of antibiotics in treating periodontal disease.

  3. Anne Symons

    Anne Symons

    Anne qualified as a Dental Hygienist from the Eastman Dental Hospital in 1986, achieving a commendation for dental education within the community. She also has a Diploma in Dental Health Education. Anne has worked as a Hygienist in private and NHS practices, as well as for an NHS Trust in a hospital, treating patients with head and neck cancer and those with oral manifestations. She also works with Knowledge Oral Health Care and trains staff in residential and nursing homes to deliver better oral care to their elderly residents. In 2016, Anne also completed a level 3 Certificate in Training and Education.


  4. Helen Westley

    Helen Westley

    Helen qualified as a dental hygienist from Liverpool Dental School in 1988. From 2002-2004, she combined work in general practice with a position as Tutor Hygienist at the Birmingham Dental Hospital, completing a teaching certificate for adult learners. In 2008, Helen joined the Publications Committee of ‘Dental Health’ – the bi-monthly journal for members of the BSDHT. She currently holds the position of Honorary Treasurer for BSDHT and is one of the four Directors.

    Twice a year Helen works for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses as an examiner on their ‘OSCE’ practical exams. She combines this with working an average three days a week in a practice in Staffordshire.

  5. Kimberley Lloyd-Rees

    Kimberley Lloyd Rees

    Kimberley qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2010, with a duel qualification in dental hygiene and dental therapy. She has enjoyed a varied dental career working at specialist cosmetic, sedation and implant clinics, as well as in general dentistry at NHS practices and also with the Royal Navy. In 2013, she volunteered with a dental charity in Nepal and hopes to continue her dental volunteer work. Kimberley has been a Professional Educator on behalf of Waterpik International since 2012 and is passionate about educating dental professionals and patients alike about Waterpik® products.


  6. Susan Hutson

    Susan Hutson

    Susan qualified as a Registered Dental Surgery Assistant from UCH London Dental Hospital and as a Registered Dental Hygienist from the Eastman Dental Hospital in 1987. Throughout her 30 years in dentistry, she has worked in private, specialist and Harley Street practices. Susan has also obtained further training in infiltration and ID block anesthesia, as well as in oral health education and has a special interest in periodontal management and treatment, implants, fixed orthodontic treatment.



  7. Patrycja Amrogowicz

    Patrycja Amrogowicz

    Patrycja qualified as a dental nurse in the UK in 2008 and focused her work on dental implants for the next six years. In 2013, she completed a PTLLS teaching qualification and went on to train dental nurses in the field of dental implantology. She then went to Poland to study for her degree in dental hygiene, qualifying in 2014, before returning to the UK to work in NHS and mixed dental practices in the London area.
