Crowns, Bridges & Veneers

Crowns, bridges, and veneers care

·       A crown covers most or all of a damaged tooth, protecting it and restoring function.

·       A bridge attaches to two or more crowns to fill the space of a missing tooth.

·       A veneer is a thin, tooth-coloured covering cemented to the front of a tooth. Veneers can improve the appearance of stained or irregularly shaped teeth and can close small gaps.

Oral health and crowns, bridges, and veneers

Crowns, bridges, and veneers require careful cleaning to protect both your dental work and the health of your natural teeth. If brushing or cleaning between teeth is neglected, plaque can build up around these restorations, leading to gingivitis, gum disease, or decay in the underlying teeth.

Good daily home care and regular dental check-ups are essential for keeping dental restorations healthy long term.

Cleaning dental work and removing plaque

Bridges and crowns can be more challenging to keep clean than natural teeth. The Waterpik™ Water Flosser is designed to clean effectively around all types of dental restorations. Its unique pulsating water action reaches areas where string floss may struggle — such as under bridges and around crown margins where food and bacteria can collect.

For additional support, the Plaque Seeker™ Tip is specially designed to improve plaque removal around crowns, bridges, veneers, and other difficult-to-clean areas. With three thin tufts of bristles combined with pulsating water, it provides extra cleaning power and is clinically proven to be more effective than dental floss at improving gum health.
